CorelDraw 8

Using the CorelDRAW 8 book, I get to learn about the program, and actually get to experiment with it. As I go, I document my progress.

*I will be using a computer mouse for this whole project

Lesson #1

The creation of lines

The first lesson of the book teaches you how to create different types of lines. Including vertical, horizontal, and even curvy lines. Since this was my first time trying out this application, I wasn't expecting the program to work this way. I was expecting more of a free hand kind of thing, but I'm enjoying this so far. I also practiced moving around closed objects (lines where the ends connect to form a shape).

Lesson #2

The Creation of Text

Since the second lesson was dealing with text, I played around with stretching out words, changing the font, sizing them, and so on. This lesson actually wasn't too hard to master, but as you could see, I used the word "Comic Book" for all of the changes that I've applied to the text.

Lesson #3

Working with shapes

With this lesson, it dealt with shapes. Including how to change one shape to another, stretching them out, custom designing them, and even filling up a closed space with color. I was surprised with the amount of options that the shapes provided alone. When working on this lesson, it didn't really take a long time to complete, but it was pretty fun.

Project #5-A

On this page, I actually start using a digital art program and experiment with it.
